Pressboard is a material made of several layers of paper that are compressed using heat and pressure, resulting in a strong, dense, and tear-resistant material ideal for frequent handling. Types of Pressboard File Folders
As always, The Supplies Shops is ready to equip you with the very best folder style for your needs and preferences. Pressboard folders come in three standard options — Type I, Type II and Type III. The types refer to the density of the material, with Type III being the lowest density and Type I being the highest. Type I pressboard folders are made from 20-pt stock, while Type II and Type III are made of 25-pt stock. They all feature full cut end tabs with 1- or 2-inch gray Tyvek expansions, and scored tick marks for easy label placement. Type II and Type III pressboard folders have all of these features with a larger end tab exposure, at .75 inches.
