Our filing shop offers a wide range of file folders. Here are some of the primary types and their unique features.

First up, is the position of the tab in relation to the spine. The two most popular types of tab styles are end tab and top tab folders.

End tab folders, also known as side tab folders have a tab along the short side. They are stored on file shelving with the tab extending out for easy access. Top tab folders where the tab is located on the long edge or top of the folder and are used in a drawer filing system. So, if you are shelf filing, you will need end tab folders, and if you are filing into drawers, you will need top tab folders.

Secondly, both top tab and end tab folders come in a variety of paper thickness. The most common file folder thickness is 11 point and is economical for light use. Our thicker stock 14 point folders are more durable for frequent handling while comfortably holding more documents. 14 point folders are the minimum I recommend when utilizing tabbed chart dividers.

18 point folders are thicker still, and are great when utilizing custom file back dividers. Our most durable folders are made from pressboard with a robust Tyvek binding –perfect for those extra thick files uses on a daily basis or a large amount of file dividers.

We offer a wide selection of colors in all the various thicknesses to better help you organize and quickly identify collections of records.

We hope this helped you decide which filing folders you need. To choose your own color-coded filing folders, accessories, and more, you can find everything you’ll need on our website.
